FAQs

We welcome participants of all nationalities, as long as they reside in the MENA region. Eligible participants include university students, post-docs, and researchers. You do not need to be a university student to join, but you must be 18 or older.

No. You don’t need a technical or healthcare background to participate, but you should have relevant experience or be open to learning during the program. You can mention studies, projects, or research related to the themes in your application.

Yes — all challenges are focused on SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, Sustainability is eligible if directly linked to health and well-being.

Yes. If necessary, you may have opportunities to connect with partners through your assigned mentors to gather more information about the challenge statements.

Teams must have 3–4 participants. Solo participation is not allowed.

Yes. On the application form, you can mention your team and team members. Each team member must submit an individual application.

Yes. Partial teams and individuals can apply, and the program can help match participants into full teams.

You will develop solutions for real challenge statements provided by participating organizations. If your idea aligns with a challenge statement (e.g., in mental health), you can work on it. Ideas outside the provided themes are not eligible.

No. You will select and work on a challenge statement during the Sandbox.

They will be shared in the program materials during the onboarding process.

No. You can apply anytime before the deadline (August 31st). All applications will be reviewed after the deadline.

Impact, creativity, feasibility, and technical depth.

The program will help group individuals into teams based on skills, interests, and preferred challenges.

You are not expected to participate every day, but there will be key workshops, coaching sessions, and check-ins you must attend.

Yes. The challenge statements will be shared so you can select one to work on.

The Sandbox program is fully online. The final pitch day will be in person in UAE.

Yes. There are financial awards for winning teams at the end of the program.

No. You are expected to present your idea or prototype, not a fully developed product, along with a pilot roadmap.

Yes, as long as they are residing in the MENA region.
