startAD and VentureSouq are committed to creating an impact in the investor space. Starting with Angel Rising, launched in 2016, an investor symposium that has grown to be a leading voice demystifying the startup investing landscape and ultimately inspiring more stakeholders to fuel greater innovation in the GCC and beyond.
Additionally, in 2020, startAD and VentureSouq launched the Conscious Investor Fellowship (CIF). The first of its kind, pan-regional investor program focused on the impact space by upskilling regional investors with the necessary knowledge and application to craft their own impact investment strategy.
To learn more about CIF 3.0, click the link to watch the information session!
Building on the momentum from COP28, which emphasized climate finance, technology-driven solutions, and an equitable transition to achieve net zero by 2050, CIF 3.0 positions the UAE and the region as a leader in climate innovation and investment.
The UAE’s ClimateTech ecosystem is growing rapidly, attracting both regional and international startups eager to scale their solutions. However, there remains a significant gap in early-stage investment expertise, with MENA ClimateTech accounting for just 0.2% of global funding whereas 7.5% of global startup funding belongs to this sector. CIF 3.0 aims to bridge this “missing middle” by equipping investors with the tools, networks, and expertise needed to unlock this opportunity.
